This is news to me

Tommy's Charity

Check out this website and the charity that they are working for. The band is a hoot, you need to see all their videos. I had found them via another blogger who has suffered a loss last year. I signed up for the newsletter and this came this month. I did not know that the couple who kind of run the show here had lost a baby. How terrible and if you read here Joel or Jacqui I am so very sorry.

They are working for a good cause and I know that some of you are stopping in here from the UK so if you haven't heard of this charity and feel the urge to donate, this looks like a good one.

Other then that I am off until after the first of the year. Take care all of you and I want to see only good news when I get back on January 2. Ok? So you have your marching orders so hop to it. ;)

Schaumberg, Illinois

Someone with an internet provider from Schaumberg, Illinois spent 22 plus HOURS reading my blog. I just have to know, did I really write 22 hours of stuff? Holy crap, I didn't realize that 16 months of writing only took less then a day to read.

You can put your spot on my map, just click and follow the directions. If you put in the time to read it all, thanks. Wow!

Update:
Didn't mean to pick on you Schaumberg, I was just amazed that someone would spend that much time reading what I wrote. If you found this because of a loss, I am so sorry and please post a comment. If you are my psycho sister-in-law, hey see you next week, he he! (won't that be fun?)

Per Stats Counter I have had visitors from the US, obviously, Canada, England, Australia, India, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Some of those had a blog link to how they got to me as I still have not had anyone find me via a word search, that is just weird. But some of the blogs that somehow or other got them to me, SCAREY! I mean one is killer something or other. Not cool. Not into that crap here man so go away if that is what you are about.

So yeah, can you tell it is a pretty boring Friday afternoon? Get to go see the therapist today then the shrink again on Tuesday after the big holiday staff meeting, which usually makes me want to drink large amounts of alcohol.

Really, Who Would Think This?

Or say this to someone?

Ok, remember Evil Ex-Coworker? Well we saw her and her husband and devil child and the new baby at a party on Saturday. The new baby arrived 4 weeks early and is another boy. She was telling me that she BLAMES ME for not knowing that she was in labor. Excuse me? She goes on to say that she remembered me saying that when I was pregnant with Alex he would turn his head in my pelvic bones and I would get pain. So when she started getting a back ache and FUCKING CONTRACTIONS she thought of me talking about Alex and his head thing and just thought that HER baby was doing the same thing. Ok, who would actually have the freaking nerve to say that to someone? Especially considering that was THE very first thing out of her mouth when she got to this party. I seriously just wanted to hit her. So he is about 2 months old now. Then after that discussion she starts talking about how she isn't losing any weight even though she is breastfeeding. Come on, do you care about your kid or the size of your ass? Give it a break.

She is also extremely anal about not letting anyone touch her baby. Then why bring it to a party? HELLO! She took it to the bathroom with her instead of letting me watch it sleep in it's carseat, like that is SO much more sanitary for the baby, to set it on the floor of a public bathroom. Then she leaves the baby in his seat, on the floor and just wanders off to talk to people. When he started to cry I uncovered his head and was trying to get him out of his carseat to pick him up, she comes flying across the room and pushes me away from him and then doesn't even take him out of the carseat. Just rocks it and he doesn't calm down.

Compare that to my realtor who calls me to come see her new baby, 3 days after he was born and she had just gotten home from the hospital, had a house full of her relatives and asks us to come see her and the baby. She laughed at me when I said I needed to wash my hands before I could hold her baby because we had been at the hardware store and my hands were all dirty from digging through lumber. And she didn't make me wear a mask over my face either, I was able to rub my cheek on his little head and kiss his fuzzy little forehead. You would never see Evil Ex-coworker allowing that, she still doesn't let anyone even hold her kid because it is winter and there are germs.

I bring this up because I am subjecting myself to lunch with her, I am sure the kids but at least there will be others there. One of my coworkers who also had been burned by the so called friendship with this person, said that she didn't want to stay there for the 2 hours it usually takes so I told her we could ride together and then bail when we are done eating because it isn't like there will be any discussion of how either of us are doing, it will be all about Rachel.

So happy Friday. I am also having my aunt come stay the night with me and Alex as Steve is going to Portage tonight. So I get the whole bed to myself, yeah!

Take care and Jenny, if you still read here and Catherine, packages will be going in the mail tomorrow, I hope. So look for them next week, hopefully, with the Christmas rush I hope they arrive on time. I can't believe it will be Christmas in a week. Shit, I suppose now that I HAVE a tree, sitting in the garage, I should bring it in and decorate it before all the needles fall off, eh?

Our Friend, HCG

Ha! I am sure that brought alot of you here thinking I had something good to share. Sorry I don't but I did find out something interesting about HCG or Chorionic Gonadotropin.

I was looking up some chemicals yesterday for work, cause I have a super cool job like that, NOT! But any way I have this reference book that tells you a bit about darn near any chemical you can think of and the page fell open to Chorionic Gonadotropin.

What the book says:

"Glycoprotein hormone synthesized by chorionic tissue. Maintains the function of the corpus luteum and stimulates ovarian steroid secretion in the early stages of gestation. Bioactivity closely resembles that of luteinizing hormone. ... Produced by trophoblasitc cell neoplasms and used in the diagnosis and management of trophoblastic malignancies. Also produced by cancer cells of various histological types."

So hey, pregnancy and cancer are linkable, who'd a thunk it?

There are at least 20 references, articles and published papers regarding the linking of HCG to cancer. Two that jumped out at me and I hope I do this who citing thing correctly, it has been years since I had to do this and Alex isn't here to help me do it right. Yes, the boy corrected me one time when I was posting the name of a book online. So if I did this wrong someone please correct me so I get it right.

Diagnostic use as a tumor marker: L.A Coleet al., Cancer Res. 48 1356 (1988); D.L. Blithe et al., Trends Endocrinol. Metab. 1, 394 (1990).

Secretion in normal, nonpregnant humans: W.D. Odell et al., ibig. 418.

Synthesis and expression by tumor cells: H.F. Acevedo et al., Cancer76 1467 (1995)

I have not looked up these articles yet but plan to do that. I found it very intersting that the hormone that we would really like to have show up when we are trying for a baby can apparently show up when we have cancer, which is not so good, actually that sucks.

So there is my educational post for now, ok forever. Aren't you glad you know me now?

Driving Me Nuts!

I don't know what is wrong with me but the sound of my cube neighbors typing and this one guy really pounds on the fucking keyboard, but it is driving me CRAZY!!! I just want to walk over to his cube and throw the fucking keyboard out the window! Plus then listening to all of them eat their lunches at various times throughout the day, why can't they eat at the fucking lunch time? So we are all chomping down our lunch at the same time? Ok, when is the increased dose of the AD going to kick in? I am doing ok with the reduction in cigarettes, still not completely off of them but don't HAVE to have one every hour any more. I started the increased dose of AD yesterday and I am still cranky. Last time I was on this stuff I was really mellow after the first week and we are on week two now. Plus I have to phone in a refill for my prescription because I will run out of my trial set of pills the day before I see the shrink again. FUCK! Do you think that the fucking Walm*art Pharm*cy can be listed in the fucking yellow pages? Of course not here in Podunkville. Can I just bite someone?

I just want to scream! I have my headphones almost cranked to full blast and now my eyeballs are jumping so that makes attempting to get any reading done almost impossible as well. Also, because I am so ticked about the extra noise around me I can still here it! Shit!

Hello!

I have been meaning to do this and of course continue to forget. I want to say a big Hello and Thanks to the newest people who braved putting their mark on my map. I hadn't checked in like forever, and when I did I was so surprised to see so many new people on there. I really appreciate you doing that for me.

Catherine has laid claim to the dinos that were in the pictures. I am going to take out the other dinos that I truely loved and will take pictures of them and post and see if we can't find homes for some more of these little fellers. Just think, you don't have to feed them, don't have to walk them and they never pee on the floor! How great is that?

Not much else happening, if Blogger would let me put more then one freaking picture up I did take a ton of pictures of the inside of the house last night so if you want to see them email me and I will send them to you. If I can figure it out I can do a slide show thing, have never had much luck doing that but hey, I will give it another shot just for you. ;)

Take care and hope you all don't have the lovely fog and rain like we do here. Really does not put you in the Christmas spirit when you were intending to go shopping tonight and get a freaking tree.

HELP!! Dinosaurs Need New Home!!

Seriously people, I was going through boxes of stuffed animals and toys from when Alex was little and I am forcing myself to part with this huge collection of dinosaurs that I had gathered over the years before and after the boy was born.

The pictures are of most of the Precious Moments Dinosaur set, I bought these at the Hallmark store. They are so cute and have been packed away for 10 years and I can't keep them in an old suitcase anylonger. They need to go to a good home.

I have many other dinosaurs as well, some are partial bean bag with sparkly patterns on the backs, some are bright colors, some make noise when you squeeze them. Please someone let me know that you can take these off my hands.

If I can't find a blog friend to take them they will all be going to a hospital in Milwaukee to be used for babies in the NICU. I don't know if the dinosaurs will be as big of hit at the hospital as I thought they were when I bought them.

I would love to send them out to my friends in Blogland if you would be willing to take some or all off my hands. I know that they will be going to a good purpose but I also would really prefer if they went to someone I "knew". It is like giving away a pet, I want them to go to a good home. I am pathetic that this is what I am obsessing about.

So if you are interested or know someone who would be interested please let me know. I am supposed to meet the lady tonight that is collecting these for the hospital. I think I will save out my favorites though in hopes that my blog friends do want to give these little dinos a good home.

Happy Holidays!

Bah Humbug!

Yeah, that is how I feel. I suppose I should set up a Christmas tree now that I have room. I just hate the thought of having to pay for a damn tree. Wish I was back up north where I had friends with woods to go chop my own tree. Oh well, I am not planning to get a huge one, I suppose I should find the damn tree stand too.

I am proposing this now, sorry I did this over on your blog Kellie, but how about a Big Blogfest in Southeastern Wisconsin next summer? If anyone is up for it, see I am giving you plenty of notice to say you will come and then forget about it before it gets here. I offer up my house, see doing this in the summer so you won't all freeze you butts off like you would if you visited now. I am pretty confident that I can handle up to 10 people if you want to stay at my house. Things to remember, I have a dog, 3 cats, 1- 13 year old son, 1 husband, 2 parents that I may be able to get rid of the parents and the kid and possibly the husband for the weekend and we can have a wild time in Boringtown. ;) Otherwise there is a couple hotels in town if you are scared of staying at my house. I totally understand. sniff, sniff, you don't love me.

I was thinking of it being rather layed back, especially if it is at my house because I probably still won't be done unpacking by then. ;) So bring your comfy clothes and we can all just hang out. I have a big backyard, so hope for nice weather. We will eat maybe I can figure out how to fire up the grill without taking off my eyebrows, drink, alcoholic and non, so whichever you choose. I am thinking kind of big, grownup girl's slumberparty. I know, you are all running as fast as you can in the other direction from my blog right now, going this chick is nuts, well duh! Are you new here? ;)

Obviously if someone else has a better suggestion, we do have over 6 months to make arrangements and work out the plan. Ok, yes I am being totally selfish too and wanting it in my town, but hey I am also offering up a free place to sleep, you just have to put up with me, so make sure you think you can handle THAT!

See, I have to think of other things then my house and wanting to smack my son and my husband on the back of the heads. PMS? When will the Wellbutrin kick in? Dang, day 3 and I am not wanting as many cigarettes but I feel crankier then I normally am. That can't be right.

So let me know if you want to come to my party and we will start making plans.

I am really boring

I seriously have been neglecting my lovely little blog. But I really have nothing new and exciting to talk about. I am sure that you all don't want to hear about my unpacking and then not being able to find anything because I now have room to put everything instead of leaving it all stuffed into one tiny little cabinet. Talking mostly about the kitchen here.

Oh and the husband got all mad because I decided not to risk my life driving in the first blizzard of the year on Friday. I made my decision to stay home as I was watching the reporter for our local channel standing at an intersection that I have to drive through on the way to work and even when the roads are good there are accidents here. The reporter was talking about a 2 semi accident right at this intersection and as she is talking about that a car go zipping past her on the road and spins out. So no, sorry I will take a vacation day. He really should not have been upset with me as I was out 3 different times throughout the day getting the snow off the driveway and sidewalk so that he could get into the driveway since the City apparently does not feel that our road, a freaking steep ass hill, warrants plowing until the day after a blizzard. So some kind soul who had a truck with a plow on it made a swipe down the middle of the road but there was now place other then in 14 inches of snow for the husband to have parked to then shovel in the dark if Alex and I had not done it by the time he got home. Oh and Mr. IamgreatcauseIwenttowork went in the ditch on the way home. He was on the phone with his father, supposedly using the handsfree thing, but that only means he then talks with his hands and since he is apparently the greatest driver on earth he does not need to maybe drive slower or with a bit more caution when the roads SUCK!

Oh and I went to see the shrink on Monday and she put me on Wellbutrin. And I have to see a therapist now too to help me try and control my control issues. So I guess we wait and see if that helps even out my mood any and hey I should be able to quit smoking now. Of course we will be doing Christmas with Psycho and Idiot and all of their kids at the in-laws so I may hold off really focusing on the stopping smoking thing til after then. Wish me luck with that. Hey maybe they will announce that they are pregnant, again. Because you know with her endometriosis that is so bad she can't work, she sure has no problem whatsoever getting knocked up every year.

I hope you all are having a better week then I am. I haven't even started Christmas shopping or even any decorating now that I have a real house to decorate.

We brought home the dog, Helga, she is so sad missing her friend Buddy. and the cats are being very mean to her and she is such a sweet, sensitive dog. And of course the husband has to be all Mr. Macho and has the balls to raise his voice to her when she has never been yelled at in her entire life because SHE DOESN'T FUCKING NEED TO BE YELLED AT BECAUSE SHE IS SMARTER THEN ANY OF THE DUMBASS ANIMALS YOU EVER HAD!!!! So needless to say, some stress with that because he is really getting on my nerves, I sure home this medicine starts working soon.

Have a great week and if I start feeling a bit more positive I will post something nice. Go see Kellie and her husband's gross foot picture. Just don't do it first thing in the morning. Hi Kellie! Want to go shopping on Sunday? I need to get out of the house.
