Am I That Boring?

Wow! I can't believe that I have completely lost all of my readers. That is very sad. I know that I have not had many posts with too much bitching and complaining, but hey, I have been busy and posting about that. Perhaps I need to update the "working" posts with some of the funnier, stupid things that went on during all the real work.

I really need some of you to help me out on the sock thing. We can't leave Catherine without socks and that is who you will get to send your socks to. Come on people, winter is approaching even though I have only had to break down and wear socks on softball nights for the last two months. The person I get to send socks to is in Canada, so you don't have to be in the States to play. Can I beg anymore here?

Steve apparently has gotten his head out of his ass or else he didn't realize that this weekend was "Time to make the baby" weekend. He put out like a trooper. So very proud of the boy. ;)

So I guess we now wait and see. Also waiting and seeing on the job front.

Heading north this weekend to bring back a freaking Uhaul full of crap to put into storage from Mom and Dad's. I need to get a house now to put all this stuff in. Storage unit is going to be $95 a month, that just sucks, if you add that into what we pay each month for rent we could be making a house payment on a pretty nice house.

Anyone want two cats? Need to find homes for Sassy, grey and white long haired, indoor/outdoor cat and Le Pew, white and black, long haired, indoor/outdoor cat. Both enjoy long naps on your lap, scratches under the chin, gentle belly rubs and to go in and out about 20 times a day, especially when it is this hot out. So let me know. Sassy is 10 years old and prefers sleeping to hunting. Le Pew is 4 and loves to chase pretty much everything and to get up on top of stuff that he shouldn't be on. Delivery available, within reasonable distance. If I can find them good homes, I will suffer in the car listening to them cry to get them to a new home.

Hope all is well with all of you that are still braving it and stopping by to read here. Sorry that I have been so boring but I am hoping to get back to complaining about my husband again soon, for your enjoyment.

Socks anyone?

Catherine invited me to play the Send the Sock game. So now, I am hoping that a few of my lovely readers are willing to assist me in getting 6 more people involved. I am looking for volunteers. Help a girl out here, I need some cool socks!

Not much happening around these parts. Still waiting on what the parent's plans are and on the results from my two interviews. The one in the Ivory Tower at Madison is probably out as most of those jobs they already have someone picked but have to go through the motions of the civil service process, really pisses me off that I have to waste a vacation on the off chance that they don't have someone picked.

The Recreation Leader interview was bizarre, I have never had a 20 minute interview with a freaking timer set. I did what I could and just have to hope for the best. This is a harder two week wait then the whole baby making project.

So email me if you want to play the sock game and I will need your snail mail address to send you the letter. This is one of those you will need to sucker 6 more people into joining so I get my socks. ;) So plan who your victims will be and get a hold of me for your letter. Thanks so much, I know I can count on my internet friends to help, my IRL friends leave something to be desired most times.

Oh yeah, I can't believe I didn't post this before, I guess I have been busy. Dearest Dacia had her baby boys. Carter and CJ are both home with mommy and so far doing well. They were both over 6 pounds and I think she was around 35 weeks, so that is really great. Mommy is having some PPD issues so go check out her blog and give her some love. She has been such a rock for me for so many months if I can even help her out a tiny bit I will try.

Very sad

My parents have an accepted offer on their house. I can't believe that they actually are going to sell it. We were spoiled last year when they had that crap realtor who never showed the place. They listed it with a guy I went to high school with who works with his dad selling property and in less then a month on the market had an offer.

Now it wouldn't be a bad thing if the old folks had a different place to live, but they don't unless they plan to take a freaking U-haul to Mexico with all their crap. Now what the hell am I supposed to do with all of my crap that is stored up in the barn? We have until the end of August to get them and me moved out. This sucks so incredibly bad that I can't even be snarky about it. I am terribly sad as I finally have come to appreciate the place, unlike when I was a kid living there in the middle of fucking no where. Guess I better take a ton of pictures to remember the place by when we go up in a couple weeks. Guess I better check into what it costs for a storage unit too.

I do have another freaking interview this week on Thursday for a job in the Ivory Tower in Madison. It would be a nice $3.00 an hour raise but I am not holding my breath on this one as most times they already have someone picked for the job, though they won't just tell me that so I don't have to waste an entire freaking vacation day to drive up there for the interview. Then next Tuesday I have one for a job, completely out of my realm of work experience but hey, I passed the test and got an interview so that is a good thing. Plus my uncle works at this place and has been pissing his pants with joy that I even took the dang test let along got an interview for this job. I would be the Recreation Leader and a treatment facility for sexual predators. I wonder if that incident with that guy who approached Alex and had been located at this same facility will effect my eligibility? I fucking hope not, that ass already screwed up my family enough. I guess we wait and see. Wish me luck.

Alex isn't too excited about the thought of us moving and isn't too happy that grandma and grandpa are selling the ranch. I guess we have to suffer through his bitching if we do actually move.

Mom was so upset when I first talked to her the day that they got the accepted offer that she was talking about divorcing my dad. Steve and I were thinking about this and we were like, where is the old guy going to end up then? Mom at least has her brother in Mauston. Dad has no one other then us. That is scarey, we would be stuck with the old fart then. Unless he could find his way to Mexico but then the neighbors would find him in a puddle of melted fat come next June when the temps go through the roof and the old solar powered house can't support running an air conditioner. Poor old man. She has since calmed down and isn't talking divorce anymore but she is talking about buying a house big enough for Me, Steve, Alex, her and dad and the 5 cats (between them and us yes it would be 5) and one dog to live in. We, obviously, would be living it year round and they would just be there the months that they come back from Mexico. Some people might not like that situation but I figure as long as dad has his own TV, it will be fine. Must be a big house.

On another note, what the fuck is the point of earwigs? I have those disgusting things all over the outside, thankfully not inside yet, my house. They were actually crawling on the screen door last night when I went out on the deck. I need to spray. Does anyone know of anything that I can use that will kill these ugly things? I have some bug spray but I wish I could do a bug bomb outside to kill them all for miles around. I had to spray all the holes in the floor throughout the trailer to stop them from coming in but still I can't go outside without seeing them and I just get the creeps. HELP!!

So that is the big news from Boringtown this week. Wish me luck on my interviews.

Oh yeah, CD 3. Guess Anniversary sex, like I didn't know that already, didn't work. Might help if he could finish the damn job! Might be looking into donor sperm soon. Really.

Best Damn Soup, EVER!

Ok, my husband might not agree but he has a cold so his taste buds aren't working right. I whipped up one of my famous Grab What Ya Got Soups last night and I LOVED IT! Alex did too. Told me it was one of my best and he is a soup expert.

Want to know what I put in it? So what you get the recipe any way.

In big soup pot, don't ask size I don't measure anything when I cook, it is just one of those BIG pots, not like a 2 or 3 quart, bigger.

In big pot, about two inches of water.
One frozen chicken breast
4 frozen brats

Boil meat til cooked then take it out and cut it up into bite sized pieces.

In a small, probably one quart pot:
2 good handfuls of frozen celery, including the top leaves(my mom put this in the freezer when she was here and I just found it in the back so figured I would use it)
half of a green pepper chopped up
1 whole medium yellow onion
2 tablespoons of that ready chopped garlic in the jar
a sprinkle of basil
some seasoning salt
celery salt

Boil the piss out of the veggies, must be doing 2 or 3 other things while cooking so you forget the stuff boiling over on the stove.

Once the meats are cooked and cut up and the veggies are basically mush, pour the veggies into the pot with the meat and water.

Then think that some bacon flavor would be good so fry the bacon in the small pot used for veggies and forget to cut it up first so then you have huge pieces of bacon that you then add, with the grease to the soup pot. Take some water and add to small pot to get the burned parts of the bacon off and add that water to the soup pot.

Sprinkle some Worchestershire sauce in the pot. Then stand looking at all the stuff you have on the door of the fridge and finally say, STOP! If you add anymore to that pot you are really going to fuck it up. Find a jar of fermenting roasted red peppers on the bottom shelf of fridge door and figure, hey, it has to boil more anyway so you add them for color.

Find a bag of baby spinach leaves that was shoved to the back of the fridge and most has been frozen due to the fridge controls having been turned up to "we are having a freaking party and need ice cold beer level" even though the party was not real, add the 6 leaves of spinach that aren't slimey to the soup pot and stir in.

Let soup simmer for about an hour, add a couple handfuls of shell noodles, not too many just enough to notice.

Let noodles cook and then serve to your family and hope that no one gets sick.

Success! No one got sick other then the two of us with colds were wiping our noses non-stop because the hot, yummy soup, helped to loosen the congestion. See, since Steve and I are sick with this freaking plague that Psycho and Idiots kids brought up from Indiana, I didn't really feel like cooking but soup sounded good and none of that canned stuff for us, except tomato when we are having grilled cheese, oh good idea for tonight!

I do this kind of cooking alot, just grab and cook. This was last nights creation because we have not gone grocery shopping in a month, so I used what I had and hoped for the best. It really was the best damn soup I have ever made and I make a lot of soup and try new things. So let me know if you get brave enough to try my lovely recipe. If you like lots of meat and a smokey, hearty soup, you will like this.

Worked all dang weekend up at Grandma's again and we have really narrowed down the list. I am going back this week to pressure wash the basement and the garage, if it will quit raining so that the dang basement will be able to dry out. So working for 12 hours on Saturday, when this cold was really getting a head start on my system was fun, then rolled out of bed at 6:30 on Sunday to do it all over again. Apparently I snored so bad on Sunday that Major Snoremaster had to go sleep on the couch. Then he had to act all upset because, oh my! he has a cold and apparently I am supposed to baby him because he is sick, yeah right bucko, like anyone was there to baby me over the weekend? Suck it up and act like an adult, he should know better then to expect special treatment when I don't even give Alex special treatment when he is sick. Oh the joys of being married, someone remind me why I did that again?

Let's see how far I can push Blogger today

Alright, I have the pictures of the products of Blanketfest 2006 in the Northwoods. I hope this works.

Photos removed.
I also sent small hand lotions, lip gloss, 7 sleepers, 5 onesies, 5 receiving blankets, 5 packs of sanitary pads, for the moms, and 6 packs of wipes. I hope that it will all make it there in one piece and be able to be packed up my Mel's husband to take home. He will be in the states the 8th til the 13th so I had to priority mail 5 boxes today. Just so you know, the USPS* is the cheapest shipping I found around my part of the country. Their website sucks though for help and don't even bother calling the 800 number because you can't get a real person.

So the stuff is in the mail and I was told it would be there by Wednesday at the latest. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Looks like someone still cares.

Here's to you Kellie!

I do know that driving in Boringtown sucks, did they at least have the traffic lights working or were they doing the flashing red thing? We came home on the 4th but didn't get back until almost 10:00pm.

Friday June 30, took the day off, got going a bit late due to me having met the girls at the bar Thursday night and was a wee bit drunk and then hung over on Friday. So finally got on the road and went up to work at Grandma's. We got the windows washed and the steps and patio pressure washed. Then Grandma came over to plant some flowers and invited us over to her new place for dinner before we left town for Portage. Got to Portage about 9:30 and traffic was not too bad since we avoided the freeway.

Saturday July 1, got up and hit the road for the northwoods. Took all day.

Sunday July 2, my friend Wendy from Boringtown was up north at her Aunt's cabin in Barnes so she called and they came over to look through the crap my mom had to get rid of. Must have found some treasures as mom made $120 from the visit. Then we went into the big town of Grand View to see P&D and the kids. Big pig roast and fireworks at the Grand View ballpark. We left before the fireworks because Steve was being a pain and Alex didn't want to stay.
Between Wendy's visit and heading to town my mom and I matched up the various materials that I had brought home to create my South Africa blankets. Then she started sewing away. So I ironed and pinned. We had 12 of 26 done by Sunday night.

Monday July 3, finished sewing the blankets, they turned out so nice. I will take some pictures and post them for your enjoyment. I enjoyed some time in the sun, cooking myself and Mom, Alex and Steve went to try and find the Swedish Settlement that is supposedly just up the road from their house. They didn't find it but they did find lots of mosquitos and ticks.

Tuesday, July 4, Packed up the car and the boy and headed south. We got to Glidden, about 45 minutes from mom and dad's and stopped for gas, realized that we had a flat tire, yep to us on a freaking holiday. So we pumped it up and kept going. We decided to take the highway and not the freeway so that we could stop in every small town on the way to fill the dang tire up. Oh yeah, and Steve was driving and couldn't tell that for the last half an hour he was driving on a damn near flat tire. I asked him, "Didn't it pull to the right? Didn't you notice ANYTHING?" His reply, "Nope, just thought it was the way it was supposed to be." Just a suggestion to you all, don't let my husband drive your car. Apparently you would all be driving on the rims and holding the steering wheel in the backseat if he was in charge of taking care of things, but it would be washed and waxed every week. You just would get to look at it in the driveway where it sits because you can't drive the f*cker!
We got to Portage finally and unloaded the boy. The in-laws have Psycho and Idiots kids for the week, all three, so Alex can entertain the oldest. Steve and I walked over the R&D's house and I was telling R about the tire and he said that he could fix it. So they come over and fix the tire. Thanks R!!! Love ya man.
Then we had dinner and Steve and I hit the road to get the rest of the way home. Made it home and the cats had proceeded to eat all three huge bowls of food and drink up the three huge bowls of water I had left for them. A friend was supposed to stop at least once to feed and water them but must not have done it. It is not as if they were going to keel over from starvation either. It did help out on the litter boxes not being quite so full too. I like that part of it.

So now just back to the old grind of being home again and back to work. I have to go to Milwaukee today for a meeting, which I am completely ticked off that after 16 years of doing my job I now am unable to just close a site if I feel it is ready. I have to go to the peer review committee to have 4 other people second guess my decision. I hate this region and my job here. I need to win the lottery dang it.

So there you have it Kellie, aren't you glad you asked? I am hoping to get the pictures of my blankets up tomorrow. I need to get them in the mail to California as Mel's husband will be in the states next week.

Take care and hope you all are doing fine.
