Bathroom progress

This what it used to look like. I couldn't even think of putting Marjorie in that tub when it looked like this. Since she had outgrown the baby bathtub, it was time for bathroom work to commence.

This it went to this. The plumber said it would take a couple smacks with a sledge hammer to break up the old cast iron tub. Yeah right! It took Steve over 2 hours and then he still had to bust it up into smaller bits so that we could get that heavy dang thing down stairs. Only took about 3 hours of it sitting on the curb before someone came and grabbed it for scrap though. Saved the garbage guys some work.

After removing two moldy layers of fossilized drywall it looked like this.

This is the new tub and wall color. I forgot to turn it before putting it on here and now can't figure out how to do it, so really the tub sits like a normal tub and that grey thing is the shipping cover, which I am so glad I had the plumbers leave that for us.

Oh and the new floor, went in on Wednesday, Steve put a hole in it on Friday. Right in front of the toilet and tub too where the most amount of moisture will be hitting the floor. Hopefully I can fix it with the patch kit the floor guys gave me.

I will get a picture of the trim, that really looks nice. We need to get the new light fixture up as well and if the freaking electrician would ever get me the estimate to put in the exhaust fan and light over the shower, we might actually get done.

I Guess She Really Is Beautiful, Who Knew?

Well,
Back to work and that just sucks. But I have two great kids to go home to at night so that makes it alright.

Mom and dad are back from the Baja and spoiling the little darling something awful.

I have become very boring in that all I can or want to talk about is her these days. She is such a happy baby and if it wasn't 400 degrees in our bedroom she would be sleeping through the night still. I have started, all of two nights now, letting her kick and babble in her crib for a while to get ready for sleep. She can almost get herself to sleep but we have been so bad about rocking her to sleep since she was born that this may take a while to get accomplished.

Alex graduated from 8th grade on Wednesday, now we are on to high school. EEEK!

Mom and I went with Marjorie and she was so cute in her little pink dress. She kept trying to eat it the whole time we were there. Every person who walked by had to stop and admire her and tell us how beautiful she is. I sure hope she doesn't get a big ego from all of this admiration or turn into a butt ugly teenager. ;) I will still love her regardless if she keeps her sparkling personality. I know, why do I think about stuff like that? Don't know.

Bathroom renovation began on Mother's Day weekend and still has not been completed. However, we get a bit closer every weekend. New tub and surround is in and the new floor. Drywall is up, painted and we got the trim on the doors and window. Just have to put up the wallboard and then we can put the toilet and sink back in and start using it for more then a pass through to our bedroom.

Well, here are a couple pics of the little darling. I am totally in love.

Hope you all are doing fine and email me when you get time.
