Miss me?

Hey,
First day home without my mom and dad. They went back to Mexico yesterday and got out of Wisconsin just in time, before the big storm and cold spell hit. Alex had off school today so I did have some help, made it alot less stressful to take a shower.

Other then that I have finally gotten over that stupid headache, actually it has been gone for about 5 days now. What a relief that was.

She is still a wonderful baby and sleeps and eats like a champ. At her two week appointment last Friday she was up to 9 pounds 2 ounces.

I did receive a lovely package in the mail yesterday from Canada. That is so not fair that you won't let me send you something though. Please email me at the email here on this blog with your new site, if I can join you on the rest of your journey. You know I am a sucker for home improvement things. ;)

We had a rough night last night. She drained me on both sides and thought she should have more and there was nothing there for her so she got pissed. I wish I knew where that temper came from ;). I ended up sleeping on the couch with her because I didn't want to wake Steve and thankfully Alex can sleep through a hurricane so he wasn't bothered with all her bitching and crying. She seems fine this morning and is sleeping in her bassinet for now. It was our first day going out in the morning to drive big brother to school. He is still my baby too so I can't make him walk to school in this cold. She is such a good girl in the car, passes out the minute you put her in the car, not the car seat that usually involves much screaming but once in the car she is out. Thankfully!

It should be interesting to see how I can get a shower in today. Since I have a chiro appointment shortly after Alex gets home from school so I won't have time to wait for him to get home to take the shower. Wish me luck.

Cricket, you asked how big brother was doing, I guess you can see by the picture he kind of likes her. The outfit she is wearing was the one Alex wore home from the hospital. So she is catching up to him.

She is finally here

As you probably know, Marjorie Jean Laube Anderson arrived on her due date of January 11, 2008 at 10:36 pm. She weighed in at 8 pounds 3 ounces and 21 inches long. She is the most perfect baby in the world, I am not biased at all. Luckily for me she is a great and peaceful soul since I am still fighting the wonderful epidural headache and this is the first time I have been able to stay upright long enough to type on the computer. I also pulled all the muscles in my neck and upper back pushing her out so have been a frequent visitor to the chiro this week. My doctor has basically told me to just suck it up for the headache and to drink lots of fluids and caffeine and hopefully this headache will pass.

I had gone in for my doctor appointment on Friday and they found that my water was leaking. The doctor didn't want to risk an infection so sent me over to the hospital to be induced. He was not real hopeful that it would go anywhere since I was only at one cm dilated and 50% effaced. So we get settled in and they started pitocin around 5:00 pm. My water officially broke all over the floor when I was going to the bathroom about 6:30. That was fun, not. Then the contractions really starting coming one on top of another. By 8:00 I was ready for some pain medicine but was only dilated to 2. The doctor on call said I could get the epidural though so we got ready for that fun to begin.

The epidural doctor showed up about 8:30 and started trying to get it in. Only took 3 tries and a couple "oh shits" on her part which really makes you feel that things are working well as you are trying to hold still with contractions a minute apart. That was not fun in the least and took her almost an hour to finally get the epidural going. Then finally relief from the pain. I wanted to get some sleep since they told me it would still be a few hours before baby would come. They lied.

About 10:00pm I started to feel pain/pressure and asked the nurse if the epidural was actually working. She checked me and then ran out of the room and the other labor and delivery nurse came running in with a cart of stuff and they were telling someone to call the doctor. I was like, get me some pain relief so I can sleep and they were like, you are having a baby, NOW! So in about an hour I went from 2 to 10. So they had me start to push with the contractions and on the third one I pushed some then took a breath and could hear the doctor and nurses talking so I asked them if I should push or what and they were like no don't push yet. Well the contraction took over and I said her it comes so the doctor had to catch the baby cause she was out. Apparently they didn't get the end off the bed and the doctor didn't even get a gown or gloves on, my mom said the doctor was trying to put those shoe covers on her feet and ended up leaving them on her hands to catch baby girl.

First thing I asked was, is it still a girl? They told me she was and she was perfect.

That is about all I can type for now the headache is killing me. But I thought you all would get a kick out of the thrill of the delivery.

Still here

Hi! Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

So far no sign of this kid wanted to leave her comfy, warm home. I can't really blame her considering today we had winds that put the temp down to -10 degrees. I didn't want to leave the house but I did drive the boy to school, went to the chiro and ran to Wally world for some clearance Christmas junk that I will forget I have by next year.

Only 9 more days til the official due date. She has decided that she enjoys beating the crap out of my ribs these days. With as big as Alex was he never did that to me. She has consistently been head down for a couple months now but over the weekend she popped out and was laying sideways. I think she is head down again now but we will find out for sure on Friday at the next doctor appointment.

I am off of work now and today is my first day home all alone. Not too bored yet. ;) Mom and dad fly in from Mexico next Tuesday so maybe the kid is waiting for her grandparents to arrive.

Hope you all are staying warm and healthy and that things are going great. I will be calling Catherine when or if this kid decides to arrive so keep checking with her. Wish me luck!
