Miss Me?

Didn't think so but I was absent from the Land of Blog last week because I paranoid myself right the hell out via my stats counter. Let's just say, I am a Phreak and leave it at that.

So, the week of no posts gave me time to cool down a bit after the big, last weekend ever at my childhood home. The auction went well on Saturday, it lasted for 7 freaking hours. The auction guys thought 4 at the most. Apparently they didn't realize that half of Bayfield County would show up to purchase the Famous Mrs. L's stuff since she at one point in time either had these people or else their kids in school over the 37 years she was teaching. So it turned out that they made a good chunk of change and got rid of stuff. However, my mother in her pout mode, and now I know where I get it from, geez! Anyway, she put out her dishes that she has been collecting forever and her Griswold frying pan collection on the "to sell" pile. She came to her senses though and made Steve bid on the frying pans and I snatched some of the dishes before the auction so we ended up with the things that actually meant something to her. She finally broke down and cried and let some of the pain and anger out on Friday night and has since been much more like her old self on the phone to me. She was really being a bitch for a while there and I was quite worried about her.

Dad kind of lost it when they started to auction off his tools, they started with the big trailer full of tools and he was sad to see some of his treasurer go for such little money. It did wake him up to the reality of "his somedays are over" in the northwoods and he actually apologized to mom for giving her so much shit for being sad to leave their home. Finally, something woke the old bastard up.

We still came home with a trailer and the father-in-laws Highlander full of stuff though.

The father-in-law really ticked me off too. When we picked up the vehicle on Friday I asked him specifically, "What time do you need us back on Sunday?". They were camping and had obviously used their vehicle to get the camper to the camp ground where we met them. So he tells me noon, I tell him that there is no way that we will make it by noon. Then he says to not worry about it that they will call R&D to come with their truck and get them. So I didn't worry about being in any big hurry come Sunday morning. We finally leave mom and dad's for the last time ever, bit of stress and tears, around noon. We get to Park Falls where we finally get reception on our stupid cell phones and call the father-in-law, he says to me, "So you aren't going to be here at noon then, huh?" Well no shit Sherlock, it is now 1:00 I think we missed the noon bell. Then he says, "Can you be here by 4:00?" Uh, no! We are 4 hours away, plus need to take the trailer an hour south of the campground to drop it at their house and then come back for them. So then Steve and I are furiously trying to get a hold of R&D to see if they could possibly run up and get the in-laws. Never did get a hold of them. So then I am getting pissed because if I would have known that they needed us back or that WE were supposed to be responsible for getting their camper back home I would have left earlier or made arrangements before the hour before they had to be the fuck out of the campground.

Question for you: If someone tells you not to worry about getting back at a certain time and they also tell you that they will make arrangements to get home, Don't you then let them worry about it and wouldn't you be a bit peeved if they then start to give you shit about not being back because they did not make the arrangements they said they would?

Then my husband is like, "Well it is our responsibility to get the camper home since we borrowed their vehicle." I was like, it would only be our responsibility if they had fucking said that they didn't need us to be back at a certain time and that they had already made alternate arrangements for getting home. Neither of which was what they did though. I was really mad over that.

Then after the dumb comments the weekend before from Psycho about storing my stuff in the basement at the in-laws, which it is none of her fucking business, I get comments from the father-in-law about it. Apparently he thought he was being funny. Needless to say after the emotional rollercoaster of that weekend the last thing I needed was someone to be giving me shit about taking up space in a room in their fucking basement that they don't even ever fucking go into. Not thrilled with that. So I am getting my stuff out of the basement this coming weekend when mom and dad bring another fucking uhaul of shit down, I have no idea where they found a uhaul more of stuff considering that the house was empty of everything but their bed, which is staying at the house for the new guy, a few dishes and some food. So they will meet me at the in-laws and I will remove my stuff from the basement and then I don't have to listen to anymore supposedly funny comments. Steve was all mad at ME because oh geez I guess I am not supposed to have been upset about never being able to see my childhood home ever again. I get the dumbass story, "Well we moved a bunch of times when I was a kid". Yeah this coming from the man that would still be living at home with mommy and daddy if he hadn't married me. And still wants to move back up to the same town that mommy and daddy live in. Whatever!

So now fun stuff. Went to look at our first house last Tuesday. I really liked it and I admit it needs a ton of work but with it sitting on over an acre of land and in the foreclosure process we could get it for a steal and easily make our money back in 6 years if we still decide to move north after the boy graduates. But of course Mr. Handy, oh no we can do all that work, Yeah no shit I know you can't but they have these people called contractors that you can hire to do the work and get it done and not have to rely on your family or friends who I can damn well bet won't be anywhere to be found if we need help moving or fixing anything regardless of where we find a house.

He was all worried about this wet spot on the basement wall. Well, yeah after three days of nonstop rain down here, in clay soil and a shit roof with no gutters on that side and the slope not going away from the foundation, you think maybe some water might have run down along the freaking wall? That is something I can freaking fix as I had to fix the foundation at my house in Buttnutt. Oh well, I really liked it but I do have over 20 others on my list for my realtor friend to show us. We need to get moving on this too because her baby is due in November and I would like to be moved before the snow flies.

So this weekend, I was husbandless and it was good. Sorry honey, but I really like having the whole bed to myself.

I also had the opportunity to meet the Divine Ms. K.. I had run over to visit my cousin, crazyjustlikehermother and thinks her mother was a saint and she SO wasn't. Anyway, Ms. K and my cousin live in the same town and not too far away from each other. So since I had told Kellie that I had some books and she was interested in reading them I figured no time like the present to finally get brave and meet each other. She was up for it and came on over.

She is not what you would expect from her blog. I mean she is funny and beautiful and that whole sausage/swimming suit story, so over exaggerated it isn't even funny. What I thought she would be like: Loud, like me, Brash, for lack of a better way to put it, You know how she talks on her blog. Apparently her fingers are more tough talking then she really is. ;) But she is soft spoken, granted this was the first time we met and she did only have one beer, and sweet and Hesitant, not real in your face forward, like I am and of course I love her because the first words out of her mouth were, "You aren't supposed to be skinny." SHE CALLED ME SKINNY!!!!!! I love you Kellie! I am not skinny, by the way. I can't wait for the next time that was get together and she doesn't have to hurry home to make dinner for her family. I was sorry to see you leave Kellie. But next time we will get together without my cousin. All she wants to talk about is her and that just does not leave me any time to talk about ME. ;)

Then yesterday took the boy shoe shopping for soccer shoes and shoes for school. My baby boy is now wearing a size 10 men's shoe. And he let me cut his hair last night, all the curls came off onto the bathroom floor last night. That boy needs to start showering everyday too because he is getting the greasy hair thing going on and oh my, my baby has two zits on his big old nose! I suppose I should have known it was coming, he will be 13 in a couple weeks.

Oh and I got my period in the middle of the auction that day, good thing we weren't selling the damn toilet that day. ;)

Take care all and keep in touch.

Fun Work, For Once.

Today I was actually enjoying work. Want to know why? I am going to tell you anyway. I was working with another program. I got to help the Wildlife program do interviews for a limited term employee position this morning. I know, that sounds dull as all get out but believe me it is way more fun then what I usually do all day. Oh right, I read blogs all day, forget that last line. ;) I mean it was more fun then what I am actually supposed to be doing all day. Anyway. We got through the interviews and that was fun.

Then, M. tells me that he has some traps out back of the office that he is catching Morning Doves to band and he asks me to help him band the one that he caught. I got to take the pictures of the lovely little birdies and take notes while he got his hands dirty with feathers and bird bugs.

Then he asks me to take pictures of a sick bat that someone brought into the office in a box. That was a bit scarey especially when he was holding the poor little bat and it was hissing and all freaking teeth. It didn't look very sick at that point.

I just returned from another trip out to the dove traps as we had two that needed to be banded. Turned out this time one was an adult male and one was a juvenile. Just as we were finishing the juveniles photos the damn thing got loose. The poor baby had banged itself up pretty good in the cage too and has bloody wings. Sad.

So that has been my day of actually being here in this hell hole and actually enjoying myself. Aren't you glad you stopped by?

Shocking, I know

Two posts in less then an hour. This one is pretty lame but I figured I have to do it. My husband sent me an email last week with this as all he wrote, "I have to take some time off next Thursday. I am going to jail". If that doesn't make you stop and wonder. Especially as it was the day after the big discovery of him having been reading my blog. Oh before I forget, Kellie, Cricket and Lola, he reads you guys too. If you don't want him to let me know and I will kick his ass.

So anyway, he isn't really going to jail just to jail for a good cause. It is a fund raiser for MDA. So I told him I would post it on here and if anyone felt like helping him out fine if not that is fine too. So here is the information.

Information removed.

You also get to see what he looks like now, 2 years after the wedding. I suppose I should donate myself, especially since one of my online friends did, I just checked.

Let's Make a Deal

Ok, I am failing miserably in my attempt to find 6 suckers to carry on the "Overtaking of the Earth By Socks" campaign. So I will make you a deal. In an effort to at least honor my end of the bargain of being included in the campaign, I need to get Catherine 6 pairs of socks.

So the deal is this: I need 6 volunteers to send Catherine a pair of socks. Even if I can round up 5 and I can send her a pair from me. No conscription into the Sock Army is included. You will be free and clear to lead your lives sock free with me if you will only do me this one small favor. (picture me on my knees begging with tears in my eyes). So email is on the side. Please help out. She is remodeling her house so is going to be needing some new socks. I know I can count on you to help a girl out in this matter.

CD33, still nothing.

Diabetic Cat Lives

I made the decision to give the insulin injections a try. I am sure that the husband isn't thrilled with this as now until we are done, soon I hope, with the injections, we get to be like Psycho and Idiot and take our cat with us when we go away for the weekend. I am sure she is just going to be thrilled with that plan, NOT!

So far it hasn't been too bad, she is cooperating and is loving all the extra attention and the best part, hasn't peed on the floor again. So yeah, no cleaning of the carpets every freaking day.

Went to a family reunion this weekend and Psycho and Idiot did the typical dump their kids and expect everyone else to watch them. You know, it is one thing when your kid is old enough to keep track of itself but a 1 and a half year old and a 9 month old baby aren't really up for that challenge. So needless to say I was watching the baby most of the time we were there. I did try to leave it with the mother but she basically ran away from it. What great parents. At least I didn't have to change any shit diapers but the baby did puke all over me. It is one thing when it is your own kid but I am sitting there with puke all over my leg and my shorts and my hand and the mother didn't even offer to take the kid so I could go wash off the stench. Let your kid puke on you next time honey.

So now this coming weekend get to deal with my parents and the big auction. Not that I left much good stuff there or that there will actually be that many people there to purchase the remaining treasures. My mom is being all weird. She was saying the last time we were up there that she didn't think she would be making it back to Mexico and then last night she was saying she didn't want us up there this weekend. Well mom, you didn't have to go along with the crabby old man and sell the freaking house if you are going to pout this badly about it. I think she is very depressed over this whole thing and I hope she doesn't try to do something stupid. She can be such a fruitcake sometimes, I think she is either going to kill the old man or else herself and then I am going to be parentless. I need to take both of them and smack their freaking heads together. So wish me luck this weekend.

CD 32, don't know what is going on. Negative test last night.

Oh and that lovely ex coworker of mine, you know the oh so tactful pregnant one and her brat kid just stopped in the office. Good thing I have to go take the cat in to the vet for a follow up blood test.

My Cat Has Diabetes

Really, I took her to the vet this morning because she has been peeing on the floor. She usually just does it when she gets mad at us for not spending enough time at home so that has pretty much been all summer. It started out with a rug here and there and not every day. Then Wednesday night when I was gone for a meeting Steve found out that she had peed on the carpet under the chair she hides under and had gotten it all over herself. So after much carpet cleaning and chair destinking I called the vet. I thought, ok, it will be a bladder infection and they will give her a shot and we will all be good. Oh no, couldn't possibly be that easy now could it?
They found sugar in her urine and then did a blood test and the meter that they had in the office couldn't read it it was so high. So I left her there for the day, they gave her a shot of insulin and were going to monitor her levels. This will entail two shots of insulin a day and special, very expensive food. I do love my little Elsa but can I justify spending more time at the cat doctor and more money on an 8 year old cat then I do for my 12 year old son? I am waiting for some other blood tests that they were running to see if she has any other organs in trouble. I just don't know what to do. This is the first time that I have had to be the one to make the call on whether or not to put an animal down. It sure sucks to grow up.
Also, who am I going to get to come watch her if we want to leave for a weekend since she is supposed to get these shots twice a day and be fed at the same time everyday? This is very hard and very sad and I am sure that some people are going to be like, what an awful pet owner, just giving up and killing your pet because it is inconvenient for you, so there I said it for you so you don't need to comment on that, not like I haven't thought about it.
I, personally, think that part of why her blood sugar was so very high when they tested it is because she finally ate a decent dinner and didn't throw it up last night. We babied the hell out of her yesterday and this morning instead of having to dig her out from under the chair, like usual, she was waiting at my bedroom door for me and helped me drink my coffee and was all perky and her normal self.
I just hate that she pees on the rugs and now the carpet, ICK!!!
Anyone want to take on a diabetic cat? I don't know if I can handle it. Next comment from people will be, what if you have a child that needs shots or special needs, THAT IS A HELL OF A LOT DIFFERENT PEOPLE SO SHUT UP ON THAT ONE TOO!!!

In other news, I had to go camping for work. I don't camp. But I did it. It wasn't too bad other then the whole getting all dirty and smelling like a camp fire and after washing my hair three times it still smells like a campfire. And it didn't rain. Every other time in my life I have gone or attempted to go camping it has been the worst rain storms of the year. We made it through with out a drop, yeah!

Still don't have homes for the two cats and dog that my parents have, only 3 more weeks til the ranch is not ours anymore. Dang! Need to start looking for a house down here I guess since I still haven't heard back on either of those interviews. You would think when you tell someone that you will get back to them in 2 weeks, that maybe actually getting back to them in 2 weeks would be nice? I don't know, maybe I am weird in getting back to someone when I tell them I will.

So that is the news in these parts. What is new with you?

I do know that sometimes you stop in and read and my post just doesn't inspire you to comment, don't worry about it. I was just kidding about that "I am watching you" thing. Trying to be funny, ha ha, get it? ;) I know I have just had such inspirational posts lately that you all can hardly stand it. ;)

Sorry, but I have to do it.

Sorry but I am going to have to have the little weird letter entry before you can post a comment. I have been getting some weird crap sent to my email address so I am hoping that we don't have to do this for long. Just long enough to get these crap sites to stop sending their shit to my email.

Not going password protect to stop the husband from reading. I warned him a long time ago that he wouldn't like what he would find here but to just let it be as it makes me much nicer to live with once I get it out here on the web. Plus all of you lovelies out there in Blogland give me such wonderful support and also let me know when I am being a complete tard. So thanks!

I am also going to get me one of those free stats counter thingies. Kellie said she would help me set that up so if you are some fruitcake reading here and never commenting, watch out because I will be able to see you. (wiggling fingers and making that Close Encounters music sound)

So, shall we talk about tampons now ladies? Lorem and Kellie, you kill me! ;)

Too bad that won't gross him out enough to send him packing. Yes, if only you were flies on the wall at our house somedays you would be amazed at just all the stupid, weird, idiotic things we talk about and are still, amazingly enough, married and for the most part in love.

Thanks Kellie!

Well, my dear friend Kellie informed me that after checking her stats that low and behold, my freaking husband has been popping over to her blog via my blog. Hmm? When did this start? Reason I have this silly blog is so that I can go home at night and be nice to him because I get all the fucking nutcase thoughts and pissedoffedness out of my damn system ON HERE!!!

So Hi Honey! Nice that you never told me you have been reading. I guess reading here makes you think you know what the hell is going on in my head? Guess again, this is only the tip of the freaking ice berg. Ok, apparently I am more pissed then I thought. I wonder just how you found this blog? I purposefully did a search on blogger for various topics, one being my freaking name, miscarriages, my name and Alex's name. and supposedly you found me just casually searching for miscarriage information, huh! I am not buying that one. So someone else in the fucking Gang knows about my blog and told Steve. Mr. and Mrs. Anonymous, I really truly hope it was not either of you. I hope the my trust in you both was justified.

I am very upset right now and really intended to post about the oh so interesting weekend packing, moving and fighting that went on in the northwoods.

I also have many pictures that I took over the weekend that I wanted to post. Too mad right now to do that. Hope there is beer in the fridge at home. Going to go think about this for a bit and may have to move to a new, safe locations. Not thinking straight right now.

Not much new

Really not much new here. I did find out that it is cheaper to mail a package to Canada then it is to mail one to somewhere in the same freaking country that I live in. Go figure. I sent off my socks to my person. Come on help a girl out here people! ;)

Kellie, Yeah on seeing Dr. Wonderful. I really hope you like him as much as we do. I also know what you mean about only keeping the stuff I am going to need or use. The problem is that I don't even know what is stored at my parent's house anymore other then my 30 boxes of books. Plus there is furniture that I am bringing back. My mom has an antique bedroom set that has been in the family forever and I really want that for when I get a real house. Plus some other furniture that they want to keep. My thoughts are that since I won't have time to sort through it this weekend that I will bring it back and then I can go through it after work a little at a time and figure out what I can keep and what can either go rummage sale or garbage. I have issues with parting with stuff and am slowly getting better but it is still really hard to get rid of my stuff. So if I am not rushed about it the likelyhood of actually getting rid of stuff is much better. So we just will haul it and then sort.

Cycle day 22. Just waiting.

So that is all my excitement. I am sure that I will have some thrilling post after the big moving adventure this weekend. Something is bound to go wrong with this project. I did get new tires on my car yesterday so that is one less thing I have to worry about on the drive up. Only thing is that since my dealership had failed to rotate the old tires, even though I asked them to do and was charged for it, I got used to driving on those crap half bald tires and so it is strange having real, good tires to drive on again. I actually stopped twice on my way to work this morning to see if I had a flat because having tread on the entire surface of the tire again made it feel weird. Only I would be stopping to check for a flat on less the 24 hour old tires. ;)

Congrats to Cricket on finding a new man and getting a little. You go girl! Now that I am an old married women, I will have to relive the dating scene through you. ;)

Several new babies have arrived and I am very happy for those families. Lauralu and Justian welcome Milo, for one.

I got dissed by Lola. I was so looking forward to driving to St. Louis to meet her and I had some plans to do some site seeing and she blew me off. Those bloody Brits. ;) (I still love you dear and know that you were pretty much booked solid, but still :( )

Since you asked.

One person was brave enough to ask a question about the socks. So I am copying from Catherine what the letter says.

You get a letter that says:
This is a Funky Sock Exchange! Please send a unique pair of Ladies size socks to the person whose name is listed on the number one space below (there are two spaces). Then move my name up to the number one position and put your name in the number two spot. Only your name and my name should be on the list when you sent out the letter. I have enclosed a blank letter for copying. Please fillout the letter and sent it to six friends.

This is not a chain letter (yes it is). It is just for fun! If you cannot do this within 5 days, let me know so that it will be fair to all those who participate. A manilla envelope should mail the socks nicely. You should receive 36 pairs of socks for the price of one (6*6=36), and it's fun to see the different places your socks will come from. Seldom does anyone drop out, because we can all use funky socks and a smile!

The turnaround time is extremely fast because there are only two names on the list. You should start receiving socks within two weeks. Have fun but remember to contact me if you don't participate.

That's it...that's how it works.

I have to get my person's socks in the mail today. I hope postage to Canada isn't too bad, you wouldn't think so since we are on the same continent, right? ;)

Mr. Anonymous, find out the prices of storage units up in your neck of the woods. I am stuck for this month down here but if we can find a cheaper place I agree that saving the mileage and stopping in Portage would be great. One benefit of having it all stored next door though is I can add to it, if there is any room left and also dig and get stuff I may think I need back out of it. It would be nice to know if I am going to get a job offer and be moving anytime soon as well. ;)
